Honesty Scrap

Tag, I’m it! Roxy at Uncommon Curiosity has passed the baton to me, along with nine others, to complete this meme.

There are three rules for this award:

First, link back to the person who gave you the award: Miss Roxy the Uncommonly Curious.

Next, give the award to ten other bloggers:

(I’m gonna cheat here a little bit because I don’t know very many bloggers, so if I’m tagging you after someone else already has… just deal with it! It doesn’t mean you have to do the damn thing twice. It just means you’re extra-loved.)

Emmett, my partner, for honestly putting up with me.

Kyle, my boyfriend, for honestly teaching me about myself.

Ashleybird for honestly being one of the sweetest and funniest girls on Twitter.

Scarlet the Femme Fagette for honestly introducing me to new gender ideas.

Mollena the Perverted Negress for honestly being unashamedly true to herself.

Niki, one of my oldest friends and Strawbry Kiwi blogger, for honestly being one of the few people with whom I can be completely myself without judgment.

Arron of X-Ray Introductions for honestly being a VERY cool guy to hang with and for getting me into reviewing!

Nadia the Kinky Librarian for honestly bringing the brains into kink and being damn sexy whilst doing it.

Saintchick for honestly being one of my Twitter gurls and someone who helps keep me in touch with my femme side.

Ang the Sweltering Celt for honestly being an amazingly supportive friend and for making me feel understood about being poly.

(Whew! I managed it!)

Finally, list ten honest things about myself:

1) I barely remember what my natural hair color looks like. I know what color it is, but I’m so hooked on trying different hair colors that it hasn’t been natural for a very long time.

2) I’m really bad at coming up with quirky, unique but still honest facts about myself because every interesting insight I’ve ever had into myself goes flying out the window in situations like this.

3) I have, in the past, won awards for my poetry. (And no, that in no way means I’m ever going to post any on this blog.)

4) I absolutely despise talking on the phone. I will text ‘til my fingers are blue but if an actual verbal phone conversation is proposed, I balk like someone asked me to chop off my own right hand. There is only one exception to that rule and he knows very well who he is.

5) My toenails are always painted, but my fingernails have been naked since middle school. Originally this was because I started working with animals and there was just no point to having nice nails, but even now that I’m just working a desk job, my fingernails stay bare. I prefer the way my fingernails look unpainted. Oh, and my favorite color to paint my toenails is gold.

6) Speaking of gold… I hate yellow gold. All of my jewelry is either white gold, silver, copper, or not metal at all. And even then I so rarely wear jewelry except for the stuff worn in piercings (which is either titanium or glass).

7) I have an almost unholy interest in sharps. I love knives, swords, daggers, needle play, piercings—anything to do with very, very sharp objects. They just look and feel so gooooood.

8) I have unusually large gaps between all of my toes. Probably because I have insanely wide feet. And yes, this makes it a larger than normal pain in the ass to shop for shoes, especially cute/sexy ones. It does, however, make it VERY easy to shop for Chucks, which are the Ultimate Shoe. Currently I have more pairs of Chucks than days in the week: dark blue, embroidered green high top, lime green laceless, black and pink, pink, orange, black and red high top and Christmasy candy-striped.

9) Why yes, I DO have a very stream-of-consciousness type of mind that leads me on all sorts of interesting side tracks and yes, it does come out in my writing!

10) (This last fact is always the hardest.) My favorite color in general is green, but my favorite color (or shade, technically) to wear is black. I feel sexiest in all black and if I could I’d wear all black, all the time. The only reason I haven’t done so yet is because I haven’t amassed enough black clothing to get rid of everything else. Someday.

A Wee Bit About Me

Well alright, so as a faithful reader of Kaya over at Under His Hand, I was tagged by technicality to do this meme. Shut up and deal with it. :)

The Rules (And Parlay is not one of them!):

1. Link to your original tagger and list these rules in your post
2. Share 7 facts about yourself in the post
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post, leave their names & links to their blogs
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged

I should mention that in the name of getting to know the blogger better, I’m formulating this meme entirely on ‘nilla facts about myself. You hear a lot about my thoughts/identity regarding kink, sexuality and gender, but a lot of my mundanities have remained hidden, not so much out of a great desire for privacy but more because I haven’t wanted to bore my kinky readers with all the “normal” stuff. So, here, have a peek at the life I lead that doesn’t involve sex toys, orgasms and all-around genderfuckery. On to the Meme of Seven:

  1. I am addicted to lip balm. It used to be mostly just ChapStick and all its myriad flavors and types, but lately I have been discovering the wonders of various natural lip balms. I NEVER leave the house without a tube in my pocket and I have a backup in my purse just in case.

  1. I am indisputably a chick in three very well-defined ways: I love (most) chick flicks, I love (most) chick music, and I love Glamour, the fashion magazine. HOWEVER. I do not drag unwilling victims to chick flicks, I do not leave that “Glamour for Your Guy” section “innocently” open on the table, and I will change my chick music if someone else is in the car who will not appreciate the upbeat sounds of the Mamma Mia! soundtrack or KT Tunstall for the millionth time. So I guess you could say I consider myself a considerate chick – in SOME ways. :D

  1. Forsaking all other creatures, I am a dog lover to the end. I rather pride myself on my knowledge of breeds and dog behavior/health in general; I think my love of dogs led me to become a vet tech although several months ago I switched careers for several reasons, none of which I’ll detail here for brevity’s sake. Needless to say: I like my cats, I like my various wee furry critters but dogs will always be my one true love (besides M of course, but then he is kind of like a big puppy).

  1. I love to paint my toenails, but my fingernails haven’t been painted since junior high. I think I stopped painting them when I started working in dog boarding kennels and eventually animal hospitals; it just didn’t make sense to keep my fingernails all pretty when they would just get filthy over and over again throughout the day. And for what it’s worth, my favorite color to paint my toenails is gold.

  1. I’m a total beach nut and love, love, love being outside at the beach, but otherwise I’m actually not a huuuuuge fan of being outdoors. I’m a big fan of cool, cloudy, rainy, stormy; I have been most unfortunate to live only in places plagued with too much sun, too little precipitation and far, FAR too much heat. The dream is to one day move further north into a climate where 80s is a heat wave and triple digits are nigh unheard of. It’ll happen… eventually.

  1. Heh, I am actually really horrible at these “come up with x-number of random facts about yourself” memes. I know there are more facts about me that I could share, but when it comes time to actually recall them and put them into writing, I go completely blank. Worse still, after blankness comes a state of being completely and totally sidetracked. Such as right now.

  1. My dog is really really cute. No, really. Look!

Okay, now I know the rules say to tag seven people for this, but a similar meme just went around the sex blogger circle (remember the Sexy Blogger Award?) and I don't want to subject my comrades to a similar survey. Plus, since when have I ever followed the rules? So tellya what: if you want to fill out this meme, bloody well do it! If not... ah well. It was something for me to write at least.

The Sexy Blogger Award and... Me?

I gotta say, I’ve been getting a kick out of reading these Sexy Blogger Award posts. Reading what people view as sexy about themselves – it’s great, whether it be serious and heartfelt or completely goofy! It never dawned on me that I’d actually end up being a recipient of this award, but there you have it! Big, squishy e-hugs to Scarlet of the Femme Fagette for recognizing me as a fellow actually-kinda-boyish femme (yeah, that’s the technical term *wink*) and for counting me as a friend. I’ve got the warm fuzzies going on for real, y’all.

Okay, so now on to the tougher part: naming five sexy things about myself. I guess before I go anywhere else I should let you know this: I really don’t find myself overtly sexy or beautiful or any of those words I should probably revel in. I find myself… average, satisfying on a good day and passable on most other days. Even when I’m dancing I wouldn’t call myself sexy really. There are definitely some overwhelmingly positive feelings associated with my bellydancing, but… well, okay. That’s a big sidetrack. I’ll give it my best shot, so here goes: five sexy things about me.

  1. The way I quirk my right eyebrow. I don’t know why exactly, but I feel kind of intriguing and awesome when I smirk and quirk my eyebrow. It’s rather fascinating how many thoughts can be conveyed through such a minimalist movement, and the variety of reactions that movement provokes.

  1. The curve of my ass in well-fitting jeans. ‘Nuff said. Remind me to show you sometime.

  1. My mods. Well-done mods are sexy on anyone. The body is a canvas and all that.

  1. The color of my eyes and the fact that I got lucky enough to have my eye color match my favorite color.

  1. The way I feel in my loose, abstract floral print pajama pants, a tank and a deep-vee sweatshirt thrown on for warmth. I’m so comfortable, yet at the same time showing just a little bit of skin… usually feeling kinda sleepy/happy from just having gotten out of bed… yeah, that’s a nice feeling. And, oddly enough, one of the few times I even come close to feeling “sexy.”

So there you have it, I suppose! Five sexy – or sexyish – things about me. Now to pass it on…

  1. Kyle of Butchtastic.net because dammit, those sexy butches need some love too and this butch in particular is VERY sexy.

  1. Kyle’s lover, Roxy over at Uncommon Curiosity because between the two of them, they REALLY sexify my Twitter feed and day in general.

  1. My partner M, because DUH he’s sexy, that and I want to challenge him to find five sexy things about himself in this rather tumultuous phase of his self-image.

  1. Nadia the Kinky Librarian, because her ventures in the world of kink and poly are enormously sexy and I truly enjoy her posts in which she shares them!

So there you have it. Sex on, my sexy blogger comrades!

Survey Whores Anonymous

Okay, can I help that there's a survey/meme that actually applies to this blog so I can spread my survey-whorage around? :D Onward!

1. Who eats more?
Probably me. M tends to forget to eat unless her stomach's about to eat itself. I'm the muncher.

2. Who said “I love you” first?
I... am actually not sure.

3. Who is the morning person?
Neither of us, although our work schedules have so programmed our bodies that we can pretty much never sleep in anymore.

4. Who sings better?
Me, although neither of us are great singers. I just have a bit more range.

5. Who’s older?
I am, by a whopping six months (almost to the day).

6. Who’s smarter?
Definitely not a question with a "me" or "her" answer. We're both smart in different ways. I think I may come across as smarter because I'm better able to express myself, but M has one hell of a brain in that head. She's just a little more quiet about it.

7. Whose temper is worse?
Hers, for sure. It takes a lot to get her fuse lit but once it is, it's a very short fuse and she tends to be a little explosive. I don't think I mentioned that time she punched a hole in the wall, did I...? Oh well, luckily for both of us one of her many talents is being quite handy around the house, so she patched it up. :D

8. Who does the laundry?
Predominantly me, but she's been known to start or switch out loads.

9. Who does the dishes?
Me. M hates doing dishes. If she's in the right mood I can sometimes convince her to help me dry/put away, but generally it's me.

10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
That would be me but only, I must say, because the right side of the bed is the side up against the wall. I prefer sleeping up against the wall if the bed is positioned correctly. Although last night we weren't in a bed up against a wall and I still got in on the ride side, out of habit.

11. Whose feet are bigger?
Mine, but barely. We technically can wear the same size in some shoes but I tend to go a size bigger, mostly 'cause of how wide my feet are. We're the same size length-wise but my feet are much wider.

12. Whose hair is longer?
Mine, but barely. We both have very short hair.

13. Who’s better with the computer?
Me, although funnily enough, it was M who got me from Explorer to Firefox.

14. Do you have pets?
Yeah, two dogs, two cats and a rabbit.

15. Who pays the bills?
We both do, although lately I've been taking on more of the household bills so she can pay off credit card bills. I should mention we don't have a joint account... yet.

16. Who cooks dinner?
Usually M. I'm not a huge fan of cooking but she's a master in the kitchen.

17. Who drives when you are together?
Typically me, unless for some reason I don't feel like it, or I've been drinking.

18. Who pays when you go out to dinner?
We usually take turns, or the person who wanted to go to dinner/suggested it will pay.

19. Who’s the most stubborn?
I would say M is, but only by the most marginal fraction. We're both very, very stubborn.

20. Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
Haha. For either of us to admit we're wrong just about takes an act of Congress.

21. Whose family do you see more?
In terms of whole family, we see hers more. But in terms of frequency regardless of amount of people, mine. My mother lives closer and visits more often, but she's the only one of my family we see with any sort of regularity.

22. Who named your pet?
Jonna and Shredder came with their names, Cinderella was named by M as a kitten (long before we got together), Piper and Xander were named by me. Well, I should explain a bit more on Xander. I had originally named him Alexander and he was just going to be Alex for short. But one time when he was still a kitten he got a raging case of the kitten zoomies, and we had just recently watched the movie XXX with Vin Diesel, and M jokingly goes, "Welcome to the Xander Zone!" And poof, that was it, he was Xander instead of Alex for short.

23. Who kissed who first?
I kissed her. Even after plying her with alcohol (yes, our first extraplatonic encounter was fueled by liquid courage), she was quite shy, so I took the initiative.

24. Who asked who out?
Not really applicable. After that ETOH-fueled night, we were just... together. One night we were just kinda like, "So, should we make it official?" And that night became our anniversary (November 21st for those who are interested), but there was no real asking-out situation.

26. Who’s more sensitive?
In what respect? ;D Physically I'm much more sensitive (teehee), but in the sense that this question was truly meant to be posed, M is. Emotionally I tend to be a little colder and harder, although it's something that seems to be improving lately what with certain... changes in our relationship. (Post to come about that later!)

27. Who’s taller?
Me, by half an inch if that.

28. Who has more friends?
She has kept in touch with more people from her past, but currently I would say it's about the same, as most if not all of our friends are mutual.

29. Who has more siblings?
Her, by a landslide! I'm an only child! She has, let's see... three (I think three) step-brothers, one half brother and one half sister.

I got a kick out of filling out this survey because in my head, I was filling it out for three people. Although I wouldn't exactly call that official yet. But unofficially... well, it seems we are more polyamorous than we had anticipated. More on that to come. :)
